How to supply your services?
NESO is focused on enabling all potential providers to access our markets.
On this page, you’ll find helpful documents to help you understand the end to end experience if you’re thinking about supplying us with your services.
Benefits of becoming a service provider
When you become a service provider to NESO, you are:
- Getting paid for your services
- Keeping the grid balanced and running reliably
- Helping the country meet net zero emissions targets and minimising costs for consumers
What kind of services do you need?
In order to balance the system effectively, we need a wide range of services.
These include Reactive power services, how we make sure voltage levels on the system remain within a given range to Restoration services, being able to restore power in the event of a total or partial shutdown system.
By becoming a service provider, you can offer single or multiple services as long as your asset(s) are available to perform under each contract agreed.
How often do you procure services?
With an ambitious plan to deliver a zero carbon system that facilitates net zero, we’re always looking for new service providers.
How often the services we go to market to procure differs and depends on the requirements of the individual service. For example, we will procure Restoration services in multi-year contracts, but New Dynamic Services are procured daily.
We also trade ahead of time with Suppliers and Generators. This is then refined in the spot markets closer to real time. Following this, we will ensure that supply meets demand by taking action within the Balancing Mechanism (BM).
All of our Balancing Services are now listed in the navigation to the left of this page.
