Connections Explained

So many businesses and people are requesting these connections that a waiting list has built up, delaying the generation and storage we need to make our energy systems more affordable, secure and sustainable.

Our recommendations will provide easier and timely connections, reducing the cost of delays, while allowing our energy system to grow and evolve when and where it is needed.

Ultimately, this will allow households and businesses to benefit from greater clean energy being available at a better price. This comes from having homes that can generate and store energy, the local jobs and growth created by new projects, and through Great Britain having a global advantage in energy innovation.

Our position gives us a whole system view that we can use to create a more adaptable energy system, with less downtime and disruption.

We will deliver efficient system access for Generation and Demand projects, so that those projects that are first ready can be first served – delivering the energy system to meet net zero and facilitating economic growth by connecting new and existing industries.
