Key information

Whether you are managing live operations or planning for the future, to make the most of our energy system we must be able to understand the full picture. But data about our energy system is held in lots of different places by many different organisations.

This can result in it varying in quality, it being shared slowly or not at all, and it not being compatible with other data or systems.

  • Enabling trustworthy, easily accessible, and fortified data as the core building blocks of our energy transition.
  • Empowering effortless exchange of data and collaboration on AI driven decisions, through implementing standardised frameworks, world leading governance, and championing interoperability.
  • Harnessing the power of AI to unlock invaluable insights, to make critical evidence-based decisions and ultimately drive tangible benefits for consumers.

Data Portal

We introduced the Open Data Portal as part of the RIIO-2 business plan. Our aims were to:

  • Deliver a foundational open data portal
  • Make datasets available to all
  • Enhance transparency of our decision-making processes

We have made as much of our data as possible ‘open’.  With a central library of published data with enhanced search capability, we've improved the experience for users of our data.
