Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations
NESO is a new public corporation owned by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ). From the launch of NESO we become a public authority under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. NESO is also subject to the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
How we're regulated
We’re regulated by Ofgem. Here, you can find out about Ofgem’s regulatory framework, how it applies to us and how it affects our business planning.
Data Sharing Approach
NESO acknowledges its crucial role within the energy sector and recognises the importance of the data it holds, as a result, we actively embrace the need to share our data externally, fostering transparency, innovation, and collaboration.
Meet the NESO Board
NESO’s board of directors have a crucial role in overseeing NESO’s ambition of being able to operate a zero carbon energy system by 2025, along with the delivery of its business strategy, objectives and plan.
Modern Slavery
Each year, we publish a statement on behalf of our NESO board that sets out what we are doing to assess and mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chain, and the progress we have made since our last statement.
Information Request Statement Consultation
Earlier this year we consulted on how we can have an Information Request Statement which is clear, and accessible. We appreciate the feedback provided and will publish the final Information Request Statement here once approved by Ofgem.
