We’ve been at the Conservative and Labour party conferences engaging with government and Members of Parliament on the energy transition as we move towards a zero-carbon energy system.

At both conferences we had the opportunity to meet Members of Parliament to discuss a variety of hot industry topics, as well as outline the role of the Future System Operator (FSO). The FSO will be an independent organisation set up to co-ordinate the strategic network planning and market to provide a whole energy system view.

To find about more, listen to our Director of Transformation, Kayte O'Neill, discuss the role of the FSO and securing Britain’s energy future during Onward Energy's 'Securing Great Britain's Energy System' panel session at The Conservative Party Conference here.

At the Labour Party Conference, our Director of Corporate Affairs, Jake Rigg, took part in The Big Economy Debate where several panellists including Ed Miliband MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero, discussed how Britain can achieve economic growth while keeping emissions down and the role the ESO’s development of a zero-carbon energy system will play in this.

As well as appearing in panel discussions, we welcomed MP’s, Ministers, and the public onto our stand to discuss the challenges we face around the energy system today, and in the future.
