CM096 Application of Gate 2 Criteria to existing contracted background
The related “Implementing Connection Reform” Modification introduces new processes and definitions that will update the existing processes and enable new applicants with more ready projects to progress more rapidly to connection. Gate 2 is a key component of the update; however, the size and rate of growth of the connections queue means that significant action is required as soon as possible to reduce the current queue so that viable projects can be connected more quickly and so that the benefits of our proposed Connections Reform model can be delivered earlier. This Modification seeks to address this by applying a project milestone / criteria (‘Gate 2’) to all existing contracted parties before they are provided with confirmed connection dates and locations.

Update 29 October: CM096 Application of Gate 2 Criteria to existing contracted background Withdrawal Request
NESO has withdrawn as Proposer of CM096.
Proposers Justification: When NESO originally raised the suite of Connection Reform proposals (CMP434, CMP435, CM096 and CM096), the view was that all four of these proposals would be required to implement Connections Reform (TM04+).
During the course of the Workgroup meetings and following further internal and external discussions, it has become apparent that CM096 is no longer required. Code requirements which would have come under CM096 can be sufficiently captured by Procedural requirements via a new time-limited STCP and pointing to the work carried out under CM095.
For clarity, CMP434 CMP435 and CM095 will continue to progress to the Urgent Modification timetable.
If you would like to become the official proposer of CM096, please get in touch with us at [email protected] by 5pm on 05 November.
If no support is received, the proposers request to withdraw CM096 will be presented at the STC Panel on 08 November to be officially withdrawn.
