Dynamic Moderation has been added to the list of ESO frequency response services from today, after it was added to the EPEX platform.
The new service will work alongside the existing services, Dynamic Containment and Dynamic Regulation to support the ESO in managing changes in frequency on the national electricity network, helping us to manage electricity use as it goes up and down, second on second to ensure that household appliances can stay at their optimal levels.
As we move towards a net-zero electricity network by 2035, these services will also help us to improve the resiliency of the network, supporting the increase of renewables and other low carbon energy sources onto the network.
